Create a trade fair experience that promotes a dialogue about “Smart Energy” during the European Utility Week in the Amsterdam RAI. During this Energy Experience, professionals from the international energy sector are to become part of the plans for the future concerning the European energy transition. Take an inspirational, supervisory and leading role in relation to the client: a consortium formed by Alliander, EnergyVille, Energy Valley, KPN, Siemens, Teradata and TNO.
We brought in all the partners during a six-month project. We involved them in and supervised them during the communicative, conceptual and creative process with brainstorming sessions and weekly conference calls. Whenever new proposals were presented, we always kept partners who would be joining the project later and the changing budget in mind. The concept was named “Spark the movement.” That name stems from the idea that all major developments in the world start with a single spark that eventually leads to a greater whole. Examples of which can be seen in the aviation, telecommunication and energy sectors and the civil rights movement. The on-going developments of the European energy transition can be viewed in a similar light. A large number of sparks have already appeared; now, it is important to follow up on them. The concept’s slogan therefore ran as follows: “Join us to spark the movement for smart energy in Europe.”
Visitors of the European Utility Week were pleasantly surprised by the Energy Experience. The difference with other – more sales-oriented – stands was clearly noticeable. The stand, which was over 900 square metres in size, caught the public’s eye in a positive sense and offered plenty of opportunity and space to engage in discussions and share ideas. The intended dialogue did indeed take place. The consortium’s partners were highly satisfied with the convincing and concrete presentation of their vision. The close cooperation with Artica has led to strong ties with great promise for the future.
